We invite all players, umpires and even our devoted spectators to wear just `a touch of pink` THIS WEEK! Round 4 Games ( Fri 11 & Sat 11 May 2012) to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Week.

 There will be a number of donation boxes placed around the courts, we would greatly appreciate and welcome any donations.

 We are raising funds for Breast Cancer Research and we will have the following items for sale:

Pink Netballs
Ribbons
Shoelaces
Socks

We would love everyone to wear a “ TOUCH OF PINK!” and to support this fundraising event!

 

Following a great year in 2012 Northbridge Netball Club is looking forward to welcoming back all our returning players as well as welcoming our new players. We are all looking forward to another fantastic season!

 

Please read below information carefully as there have been a lot of changes made this year.

IMPORTANT CHANGES

NETTA DIVISION – CHANGE OF VENUE & GAME DAY “NOW SATURDAYS at CLUB WILLOUGHBY”

The Netta Division games will be played on SATURDAYS at our venue at Club Willoughby, located at Crabbes Street Willoughby (Between High St & Penshurst Sts) all players aged 8 and 9 yrs should play in the Netta Division. With Netta teams we are more than happy to accept “play with requests” as playing with friends is important at this age. (However a mixture of players from each school is also a wonderful experience).

Parent involvement is strongly recommended & requested within our netta division teams. So if you are able and have a “passion for the sport” please volunteer for either Coaching, umpiring or being the Team Manager. All positions are very rewarding.


 

FEES & AGE DIVISIONS:

Netta Division Players8 & 9 Years (you must be minimum 8 or turning 8 years by 31 Dec 2012 or 9 or Turning  31 Dec 2012).

Junior Division Players – 10 to 15 Years (You must be minimum of 10 yrs or turning 10 years by 31 Dec 2012).

Registration fees cover a variety of costs including: Increased Hire of Courts for training; increased winter competition fees introduced by Northern Suburbs Netball Association; umpiring costs, Admin costs, end of season costs including trophies.

Senior Division Players – From 16 Years of age including adults.

Registration fees cover a variety of costs including: Increased winter comp. fees introduced by Northern Suburbs Netball Association; umpiring costs, Admin costs.

Fees are $185 per player for 2012

GRADING FOR ALL 10 Year, 11 Year & 12 Year Age Divisions will take place in three (3) Sessions starting Monday 13 FEB 2012 as follows:


Monday 13 FEB –for all girls turning 10 yrs by 31 Dec 2012 at Willoughby Courts from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Monday 20 FEB –for all girls turning 11 yrs by 31 Dec 2012 at Willoughby Courts from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Monday 27 FEB –for all girls turning 12 yrs by 31 Dec 2012 at Willoughby Courts from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.

Please note NETTA players are not required FOR GRADING.

PLUS there will be a special 10 YEAR CLUB TEAM GRADING SESSION for all 10 year club teams on FRIDAY 09 MARCH from 4:30pm to 7:00pm at the Willoughby Bi-Centennial Courts. (Times to be confirmed)

There will also be a new division of NETSETGO for all our 5 – 7 Year old girls

This is a 10 week program starting on Wed 02 May 2012 at Willoughby Courts 4:00pm

LATEST CLUB INFORMATION

FEES to increase in 2012 due to increased costs of Court Hire for training & increased winter competition fees introduced by Northern Suburbs Netball Association.

 

NETTA DIVISION GAMES for 8 & 9 Year olds now playing on Saturdays at Club Willoughby Crabbes St WILLOUGHBY

 

10 & 11 YR DIVISION GAMES will now be played on FRIDAY EVENINGS at the Bi-Centennial Courts Small St WILLOUGHBY

 

All 12 yr – 15 yrs Plus all SENIOR DIVISION including Cadet Team games will still be played at Bi-Centennial on SATURDAYS

TRAINING

First training will be on Monday 12 March at 3:45pm to 5:00pm at Willoughby Bi-Centennial Netball

Courts and then every Monday except during School Holidays. The start time for training will depend

on arrangements made with your Coaches. Some coaches arrive early at 3:30pm where as some Student

Coaches are not able to arrive till 3:45pm or 4:00pm.

REMINDER: Filled water bottles are also essential for training and at games.

COACHES

Thank you to our 2011 Coaches, job well done! Please advise if you would like to coach again this season. Northern Suburbs Netball Association will be holding some coaching clinics throughout the season.

Details and dates to be confirmed.

So please let me know if you would like to coach again and if there are any parents wanting to coach especially

within our Netta Divisions and we will arrange a Northbridge Coaching workshop.

TEAM UMPIRES

An Umpire Convenor is needed, so please consider nominating for this important position for the 2012 Season. We would like all our 12 yrs old players to sit the One Year Exam.  

Northern Suburbs Netball Association will be holding Umpiring Clinics on Sat 24 March or Sun 25 March for juniors from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. (Girls are to select just one of the sessions to attend). Also all Parent Umpires who volunteer to umpire Netta games you will attend the Mature Red Robin clinics being held on the Saturday 24 March starting at 9:00am. You will also have to sit an online exam (and pass) to qualify to umpire for the season.

All names are to be submitted for those who wish to attend the clinics no later than Mon 12 March 2012.

Dates for the Umpire Red Robin Clinics are as follows:

SAT 24 MAR 9:00AM to 12:00       Midday Mature Red Robin Clinic for adults & All Netta Umpires

SAT 24 MAR 1:00PM to 4:00PM    All Junior Umpires from 12 Years

Or

SUN 25 MAR 1:00PM to 4:00PM    All Junior Umpires from 12 Years

Players are also required to supply their own white short sleeve collared polo top with no logos, plus red

Pants or bike shorts must be worn under the skirt. Short white socks and correct foot wear are also essential.

The uniform is only worn to the actual game not at training.

 

NOTE:  NO BODY PIERCINGS ARE TO BE WORN DURING TRAINING SESSIONS OR AT THE GAMES, THAT

INCLUDES EAR RINGS.  SO IF YOUR CHILD  WANTS HER EARS PIERCED PLEASE WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE

SEASON AS SHE WILL NOT BE PERMITTED ON THE COURT.

It is very stressful to see a young player crying because she has to take out newly pierced earrings!!!
